How to join and affiliate

Welcome to Wallingford Netball Club!

We'd love you to join us! Please find below information on training sessions, membership fees, subscriptions and so on.

There are lots of things for us to communicate, so we apologise for this lengthy page of info! It is all vital and relevant information, so grab a cuppa and sit down for 10 minutes to make sure you understand everything that is required. If you have any questions, please contact our Membership Secretary, Emma Hunt at: WNCmemsec@outlook.com and she will send your enquiry to the correct person.

Initial trial with WNC

You (or your daughter) are entitled to THREE complimentary training sessions before you need to join the club. To cover the club for insurance purposes, we require both the Personal Details Form and Medical Form to be completed (you can download the documents at the foot of this page). Please bring these with you to your first trial session, or you will not be allowed to train.

Club registration, membership fees and England Netball affiliation

After the three complimentary sessions, in order to continue playing and training with the club, you MUST have completed your affiliation to England Netball (EN) and Wallingford Netball Club (WNC). Please ensure this is done before you attend your fourth session, or you may be turned away by your coach. Membership is completed via the England Netball system ‘ENgage’, but I am unable to allocate a package until you have ‘linked’ your profile to our club. The Engage system captures a lot of information which we can use as a club. When you log in, please ensure your details are all up to date – for both you AND your daughter. We require full name, player’s DOB, address, email address for club communications, telephone for contact if required.

To link to WNC, please follow the instructions below:

If you already have an ENgage Login:

To start, you will need to affiliate to Wallingford Netball Club by doing the following:

  1. Go to: engage.englandnetball.co.uk
  2. If you know your England Netball membership number and password, log in to the system. If not, but you know your membership number, choose option to reset password on login screen. If you don’t know your England Netball membership number, please contact England Netball Membership team on 01509 277850 and ask them to give it to you;
  3. Link your account to Wallingford Netball Club;
  4. When logged on to Engage, click on the player you want to link (this might be you, and your daughter);
  5. Where it says 'My Organisations', click 'Add';
  6. Type Wallingford into the Name field and click 'Search';
  7. The club should show up lower down the page. Click on the tick on the right-hand side to link to the club;
  8. Your account will now show as linked to Wallingford Netball Club. Repeat for all members you wish to link by clicking on their name in your dashboard, then linking as above;
  9. Email WNCmemsec@outlook.com with your name and we will allocate you a membership package.
  10. Once the package has been allocated, you will receive an email requesting payment. Click on the link, log in again and make your payment.

If you DON'T already have an ENgage Login:

To start, you will need to affiliate to Wallingford Netball Club:

  1. Go to the following: engage.englandnetball.co.uk;
  2. In the 'Find Club' section search for 'Wallingford';
  3. Select 'Register';
  4. The banner should change to Wallingford at the top, once you have this select ‘Create an account’;
  5. Enter details as required and set up an account. When asked how many accounts you want to create select 1 adult and, if required, 1 (or more) child accounts, this will register an account for your child and allow you to affiliate them;
  6. Please check that both the adult account AND the child account are linked to Wallingford, by following the instructions above. You may need to select the second account by clicking on their name in your dashboard, then linking as above;
  7. Email WNCmemsec@outlook.com with your name and we will allocate a membership package to you and your child;
  8. Once the package has been allocated to you, you will receive an email requesting payment. Please click the link and follow the instructions to affiliate to the club.

Once affiliated, please let your coach know by email

This will allow them to update their lists to confirm membership for insurance and training purposes.

Each year, WNC sets the level of membership fees and subscriptions which are payable by our members. You will notice when you access ENgage, that there are only two fees charged to you for this season: EN and Oxford. South have waived their fees for a third year, and WNC has come to the decision that we will not be charging annual membership fees for the 2022–23 season. We have adequate funds in the accounts to cover our running costs for this year, but will review this closely prior to membership release for 2023–24. However, WNC will again start charging subscriptions this year, to cover the costs of playing and training.

NOTE: Membership fees and Subscriptions are different charges which are used by the club in different ways. Membership fees (annual) are charged via EN and used to pay our costs to run the club, i.e., website hosting; club affiliations to EN; insurances; kit and equipment etc. Subscription fees (monthly) are charged via Teamo (see below) and used to pay the costs of training and playing in the leagues, i.e., court hire; league membership; umpiring costs etc.

NOTE: If you do not pay, you cannot attend training. This is because the EN insurance that we hold is invalidated for the WHOLE CLUB if there is just one person not paid up. If you have any questions or issues with ENgage system, please email WNCmemsec@outlook.com

IF YOU ARE INTENDING NOT TO AFFILIATE, PLEASE LET EMMA KNOW BY RETURN on WNCmemsec@outlook.com This is especially important for those in the U15 age group, as we can offer the released place to someone on the waiting list.

NOTE: ENgage assigns the package based on DOB – e.g., U14 membership is for those who are 14 or under on 1 September.
